Transforming Stress to Strength™ via Project RECONNECT

The RECONNECT vision is a decompression center in Coronado, California, offering a menu of self-paced therapies to military and civilian veterans who suffer from the visible and invisible wounds of war.

Project RECONNECT is the only center of its kind serving war veterans by providing alternative therapies that address trauma on a brain-body basis all under one roof. Our philosophy is to provide clients with non-pharmaceutical solutions to healing, including hands-on therapies, education and training that transform the stress response. Among the detrimental impacts of war injuries is a disconnection from humanity and from one’s self. Our vision is to help our clients reconnect to their lives, their families and the communities.

Through a partnership with ONE Freedom, a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, RECONNECT seeks to raise an initial $2 million to open the doors of their flagship facility on Coronado in San Diego, CA. The RECONNECT Facility provides military and civilian veterans with exceptional therapists and services that focus on decompression, internal focus and recovery. ONE Freedom also provides education and training to RECONNECT clients, families and care providers in the form of Strength after Service™ classes on-site. These courses are based on the brain-body response to stress and teach profound skills for self-regulation. This course has been taught to more than 11,000 active duty personnel and over 6,000 veterans and family members to astounding reviews and proven results.

Mission

Our mission is to reconnect military and civilian veterans to their inherent state of health and vitality by providing access to therapies that focus on the mental, emotional and physical spectrum of stress and trauma recovery. Project RECONNECT provides clients a balance of privacy, therapeutic excellence, and equipment required to create an exclusive environment that promotes accelerated healing and restoration.

Why is RECONNECT unique?

RECONNECT is a unique healing center because it utilizes a system of approaches that help the client reconnect and reset their bodies musculature, nervous system and stress response. The core methodologies include Far Infrared Sauna (FIR), Floatation therapy (Restricted Environmental Stimulation Therapy-REST), Acupuncture, Myofascial Release as well as other therapeutically beneficial bodywork therapies. In addition, RECONNECT educates audiences with important knowledge regarding stress and the body, and teaches clients self-paced methods for dealing with stress on an on-going basis. These approaches combined help the client unlock the innate wisdom to rebalance and return to an optimal state of health.
